W wyniku działań urzędowych Państwowej Inspekcji Sanitarnej stwierdzono przekroczenie najwyższego dopuszczalnego poziomu (NDP) pestycydu - chlorpiryfosu w określonych partiach produktów z Ashwagandhy (Withania somnifera). Zgodnie z ocenami ryzyka Narodowego Instytutu Zdrowia Publicznego PZH – Państwowego Instytutu Badawczego należy uznać, że każdy poziom przekraczający obowiązującą wartość najwyższego dopuszczalnego poziomu pozostałości chlorpiryfosu w produkcie może potencjalnie stwarzać ryzyko dla zdrowia konsumentów
