What the authority reported

Issue: On certain transit buses, the transmission yoke could separate from the transmission. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risks: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a bus that is disabled could create the need for a transfer of passengers in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail. For certain buses, Nova Bus will advise you to contact an authorized Allison Transmission service center to tighten the output shaft yoke bolt. For the other buses, Nova Bus will provide you with instructions for how to tighten the output shaft yoke bolt.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
