What the authority reported

On certain vehicles, the bolts for the radiator crossmember may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the strength of the vehicle structure could be reduced in a crash. If this happens, the crash sensors may not work correctly and cause the airbags not to deploy properly. Additionally, this problem could cause certain fuel system components to become damaged in a crash, and fuel could leak. Note: This recall affects both the Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
