What the authority reported

The subject products contain a cap that may lose its retention over time and/or under certain operating conditions and can separate from the pin. The hitch may separate if the hitch lock backs out of the hole alignment between the hitch and the drawbar/ball mount. If the trailer is not using safety chains, the trailer could separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. As of February 4, 2025, the company has received one report of minor vehicle damage in Canada, and no reports of injuries.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
