What the authority reported
Cartridges from the specific lots listed may report higher than expected pCO 2 and lower than expected pH results due to a manufacturing issue which may present a pattern suggestive of severe respiratory acidosis. If such results are acted upon without consideration of the patient's overall clinical presentation, this could lead to unnecessary or inappropriate clinical interventions. Use of the cartridges should be discontinued for pH and pCO 2 .
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
