What the authority reported
The 6FR suction catheter could not pass smoothly through the 2.5mm sizes of cuffed tracheal tube. This may lead to reintubations if the airway is unable to be suctioned. To date, there have been two complaints reported from united states customers where one required reintubation. No serious patient harm has occurred.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
