What the authority reported

An update within the Apple iPad Operating System (OS) may reduce Bluetooth disconnections between the Medtronic CareLink™ SmartSync™ (SmartSync) device manager software and its associated accessories. Bluetooth disconnections occur for a variety of reasons. This Apple iPadOS update addresses specific disconnections due to data corruption between the iPad's Bluetooth controller and the SmartSync base station and/or patient connector. Bluetooth disconnections during a SmartSync patient session may lead to harm due to undesirable or incomplete parameter programming.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
