Los vehículos afectados están equipados con una bolsa de aire frontal para el conductor de doble etapa que puede ser susceptible a la entrada de humedad que, con el tiempo, podría causar la ruptura del inflador. En caso de un choque que requiera el despliegue de la bolsa de aire frontal del conductor, el inflador podría romperse con fragmentos de metal que golpeen al conductor u otros ocupantes y provoquen lesiones graves o la muerte.
