Los interruptores de freno de estos vehículos pueden funcionar mal, manteniendo las luces de freno encendidas y/o permitiendo que el vehículo salga de la posición estacionamiento (PARK) sin presionar el pedal del freno. Tener las luces de freno encendidas continuamente o poder sacar el vehículo de la posición estacionamiento (PARK) cuando no se presiona el pedal del freno (y el encendido esta en el modo RUN) puede aumentar el riesgo de un choque.
