La barra de tracción puede haber sido construida con una tuerca de bloqueo externa del acoplamiento de la dirección que podría aflojarse permitiendo que un extremo de la barra de tracción se separe de la manga del ajustador. Una separación de la barra de tracción puede resultar en una pérdida del control de la dirección, lo que puede causar un choque del vehículo sin previo aviso.
