Es posible que la compuerta trasera no se trabe correctamente debido a que los pestillos de la compuerta trasera están desalineados, lo que podría provocar que la compuerta trasera se abra mientras conduce. Los pestillos del portón trasero desalineados pueden provocar que no se cierre correctamente el portón trasero. Un portón trasero mal bloqueado puede provocar una apertura involuntaria del portón trasero mientras se conduce o estacionado. Una apertura accidental del portón trasero durante la conducción puede provocar la pérdida de carga no asegurada, lo que puede crear un peligro en la carretera para los conductores y ocupantes de otros vehículos y puede causar que dichos vehículos choquen sin previo aviso.
