Se sospecha que existe un posible defecto en la unidad de controladora de los airbags, que en casos excepcionales podría provocar un mal funcionamiento del sistema de los vehículos afectados. Si esto ocurre, en casos raros podría provocar que no se desplieguen los airbags y los pretensores de los cinturones de seguridad en caso de un accidente de vehículo. Por precaución, se recomienda a los clientes de los vehículos sospechosos que no conduzcan ni utilicen el vehículo hasta que se reemplace la pieza afectada.
