Debido a la hinchazón de la válvula de la bomba de vacío por el alcohol etílico en el combustible, se podría bloquear temporalmente el paso de presión negativa al servofreno. En consecuencia, incluso si el sistema de frenado sigue siendo funcional, el pedal del freno debe presionarse con más fuerza, lo que aumenta el riesgo de accidente.
