Se constató la posibilidad de fallo del componente “inflador” del airbag frontal del lado del conductor, el cual puede romperse y dispersar en fragmentos de metal de la carcasa del inflador. En caso de colisión que requiera el despliegue del airbag conductor, el inflador del airbag puede romperse y el airbag no se infla. La ruptura podría provocar que fragmentos de metal golpeen y potencialmente lesionen gravemente a los ocupantes del vehículo. Además, si el airbag no se infla, el conductor corre riesgo de sufrir lesiones.
