What the authority reported

The company has voluntarily recalled the concerned products due to the possibility to ignite them due to a manufacturing defect in some of the products, which has been identified as a safety risk. (Products with the same model numbers other than the subject date stamps are exempt from the voluntary recall because measures have been taken to address the manufacturing defects and there is no safety risk.) In addition, the company has been notified of three reports of accidents involving non-injury overseas, and has discontinued the sale of these products worldwide. In Japan, the company has not received any reports of accidents involving the product so far.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
