What the authority reported
Because, in certain detachable portable batteries, inappropriate welding conditions between the cells and the component parts inside the battery may cause electrolyte leakage from damaged cells. Continued use in such a condition could result in metal deposition from the leaked electrolyte, leading to a short circuit, ignition of the cell, and potentially a fire.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
