What the authority reported

In the manufacturing process of the affected products, a ball pin is used to secure the steering rod to the vehicle, and this requires a hardening treatment process for the ball pin across various production stages. However, according to re-certification tests carried out by ZF, it was identified that certain ball pins remained in an unhardened state. This can reduce the durability of the ball pins and, as a result, increase the risk of the drag link becoming detached. If the drag link fails completely, the connection between the steering rod and the tires on both sides of the vehicle can be severed, which may result in loss of steering control and a potential increase in accident risk leading to bodily injury.
