What the authority reported

Analysis of a small number of reported incidents involving bicycle wheels from the ERC product families has shown that spontaneous delamination (i.e. detachment of the outer carbon layers) can occur in the rim flange area of the model series mentioned. The rim bed is not affected by this delamination but is also damaged as a result of the structural weakening. This form of delamination leads to considerable structural weakening and even total failure of the rim. The product defect described increases the risk of an accident that could result in property damage, serious injury or death.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
