What the authority reported
The plugs present a serious risk of fire as it has been identified that they can overheat and melt, due to a fault with the plug’s fuse. As a result of the overheating, the plug may spark and catch fire, causing damage to the socket and surrounding areas. Removing the damaged plug from the socket may also pose a risk of electrocution or electric shock. The plug does not meet the requirements of the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
