What the authority reported

The product presents a high risk of electric shock as the plug face does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 and cannot make a secure connection with the socket. This could lead to the user touching a live part and receiving an electric shock. In addition, the product has poor quality soldering with wires soldered directly to the PCB. Improvements are also required to the product labelling, marking and instructions. The product does not meet the requirements of the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994 or the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
