What the authority reported
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as it supplied with a noncompliant plug. The plug does not meet the requirements of the relevant standard, BS 1363, and allows the user to access live pins when plugging the plug into the socket. Additionally, the fuse did not contain any granular filler, meaning it may not operate when required under fault conditions, presenting a risk of fire. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
