What the authority reported

The product presents a serious risk of fire as the plug does not have the facility for a fuse. There is therefore no protection for the product under fault conditions. The product also presents a risk of electric shock, as the dimensions of the plug can allow access to live parts when plugging in or unplugging the plug from the socket. Improvements are also required to marking and labelling. The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
