What the authority reported

The product presents a high risk of electric shock as the insulated shutter opening device (ISOD) pin is too long. This creates a gap between the socket and the live pins which could allow the user to access live parts and receive an electric shock. There are poor quality connections internally, and the product also failed the electrical strength test. Improvements are required to documentation and markings. The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
