What the authority reported

The product presents a serious risk of fire as the charger has poor quality soldering, and the transformer does not meet the minimum requirements for creepage and clearance distances. The plug also does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 because the distance from the live pin to the outside edge is too small. If the product was left plugged in overnight, the charger and plug could overheat, causing a fire. The products do not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
