What the authority reported

The product presents a serious risk of fire as the plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363. As the plug does not make a proper connection with the socket, it could overheat and cause a fire. Additionally, the plug failed to meet the requirements of BS 1362 as the plug did not have any facilities for a fuse. The lack of fuse protection means that the product does not cut off electricity under fault conditions and could therefore result in the lead or appliance to overheating. Some of the required documentation and markings were not present. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
