What the authority reported

The product presents a serious risk of fire because the plug supplied with the product is counterfeit and does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363. This means the plug cannot make a secure connection to the plug socket, which over time will damage the pins and could cause the product to overheat and catch fire. Improvements are also required to product labelling and marking. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
