What the authority reported
The passenger airbag module may tear during deployment as a result of improper folding during the airbag assembly process. In case the airbag is torn, it will not provide adequate protection to occupants and may increase the risk of injury in a crash. Hot gases could escape, causing burns to occupants.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
