What the authority reported
The cable insulation the charger has an excessive concentration of short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured value up to 3.7% by weight) and di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP) (measured value up to 0.65% by weight). The solders in the product have an excessive concentration of lead (measured value up to 62 % by weight). SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. Prolonged exposure to them through the skin may cause cancer. Lead poses a risk to the environment. DBP poses a risk to human health and the environment.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
