What the authority reported
Issue: On certain vehicles, the bolt for the 12V ground connection under the driver seat may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the connection could loosen and overheat.
Safety Risk: A loose or overheated ground connection could create the risk of a fire.
Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, repair the 12V ground connection.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
