What the authority reported

Issue: On a small number of trucks equipped with a Hendrickson Composilite steerable lift axle, the steering knuckles may not have been assembled properly during production. As a result, oil could leak from the wheel hub and cause the axle spindles to become loose and separate.

Safety Risk: Parts that separate from the truck could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Paccar will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering knuckles assemblies.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
