What the authority reported

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the emergency trailer breakaway switch may not have been wired correctly. As a result, the trailer brakes may not automatically apply if the trailer separates from the tow vehicle.

Safety Risk: A trailer breakaway switch that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: None of the affected trailers have been delivered to customers. Winnebago dealers will rewire the trailer breakaway switch before the trailers are delivered.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
