What the authority reported

Issue: On certain vehicles, the battery cables could become damaged by contact with a metal panel. If this happens, the cables could short circuit.

Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Additionally, a fire could result in passengers being evacuated in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury.

Corrective Actions: Prevost will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a Prevost service center to inspect and, if necessary, reinstall the grommet for the battery cables.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
