What the authority reported

Issue: On certain vehicles, a problem could cause the coolant heater to overheat and generate excessive exhaust gas.

Safety Risk: A coolant heater that overheats can create the risk of a fire. Excessive exhaust gas could increase the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Additionally, a fire could result in passengers being evacuated in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury.

Corrective Actions: Prevost will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a Prevost service center to inspect the coolant heater, adjust it and replace any damaged components, if necessary. Prevost recommends that you should not use the heater until the recall repairs are completed.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
