What the authority reported

Issue: On a small number of trucks, the information on the tire and loading information label may be incorrect. This could lead you to overload the vehicle and/or to overinflate the spare tire. This could lead to poor handling and/or a tire failure. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks with the XLT trim level, FX4 package, and 4k trailer tow package. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will mail a new tire and loading information label to each owner. If you would like help to install it, you can contact a Ford dealer to have it installed free of charge.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
