What the authority reported
Issue: On certain side-by-side UTVs, the engine could backfire during start up and cause a vehicle fire. Safety Risk: A fire can create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Kawasaki advises not to drive your side-by-side until the recall repairs are completed. Kawasaki will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your side-by-side to a dealership to reprogram the engine control unit and install a wiring sub-harness.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
