What the authority reported

Issue: On certain street sweeper vehicles, the pin securing the rear door hydraulic cylinder may not have been manufactured properly. Over time, the pin could corrode and fail when the door is in the open position. If this happens, the door could fall and close suddenly.

Safety Risk: A rear door that falls suddenly could increase the risk of injury for the operator and people nearby.

Corrective Actions: Bucher Municipal North America will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the pin. The dealer will also install a retaining bracket to the rear door, affix warning labels on the street sweeper, and provide you with updated operation and maintenance instructions.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
