What the authority reported

Issue: On certain CNG transit buses, the low-pressure hoses for the compressed natural gas (CNG) system may not meet the requirements of Canadian regulations. As a result, natural gas could leak from the hoses.

Safety Risk: A CNG leak can create the risk of a fire and/or an explosion.

Corrective Actions: Vicinity Motor Corporation will notify owners in writing and provide you with instructions to inspect and, if necessary, replace the CNG system low-pressure hoses. To reduce the safety risk, Vicinity Motor Corporation recommends not to use the bus until the recall repairs have been completed.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
