What the authority reported
Issue: On certain vehicles, the clutch pressure line may not be properly secured to the firewall. As a result, the line could contact hot exhaust components and melt. If this happens, fluid could leak and you would not be able to change gears.
Safety Risk: An inability to change gears could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, oil that leaks onto hot components can create the risk of a fire.
Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a Ford dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the clutch pressure line. The dealer will also secure the line to the firewall, as necessary.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
