What the authority reported

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the headlamps to become incorrectly aimed while reversing. As a result, the vehicles may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations.

Safety Risk: Headlamps that aren't aimed correctly could cause reduced visibility and/or glare for oncoming drivers and could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action: Porsche will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the central control unit software.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
