What the authority reported

Issue: On certain vehicles, the side curtain airbag(s) may not inflate properly in a crash if the driver's or front passenger's windows are rolled down. Note: For the Grand Highlander model, this recall affects both Grand Highlander and Grand Highlander Hybrid models.

Safety Risk: A side curtain airbag that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace both side curtain airbag assemblies.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
