What the authority reported

Issue: On certain vehicles, a sensor in the steering gear may not have been calibrated properly. As a result, the steering wheel could suddenly turn from side to side by itself while turning. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control.

Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the power steering control module (PSCM) software.
