What the authority reported
Issue: On certain ATVs, a software problem could cause the ignition coil to fail. If this happens, and you continue to operate the vehicle, the exhaust system could overheat. Safety Risk: An exhaust system that overheats could cause a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, CFMOTO advises not to use your ATV until the recall repairs have been completed. CFMOTO will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your ATV to a dealership to update the electronic control unit software.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
