What the authority reported

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the exterior metal siding may not be properly attached. As a result, the metal siding could become loose and detach from the trailer while being towed.

Safety Risk: Metal siding that detaches from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Winnebago advises you to inspect the metal siding, and if any are loose, to contact Winnebago before towing. Winnebago will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace any loose siding.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
