What the authority reported
Issue: On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the battery modules could overheat and short circuit. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2024-189. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair.
Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk.
Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Audi recommends that you set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80% until the recall repairs are completed. Audi will notify owners by mail. As an interim repair, a dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-voltage battery modules. Once the final repair is available, Audi will notify you by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install an advanced diagnostic software that will monitor the high-voltage battery and warn you if it detects a problem.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
