What the authority reported
Issue: On certain vehicles, the connectors for the right-hand pedestrian detection sensors may be reversed. As a result, the pop-up engine hood safety feature may not work correctly in certain crashes involving a pedestrian.
Safety Risk: A pop-up engine hood that doesn't work correctly could increase the risk of injury.
Corrective Action: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the front bumper wiring harness.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
