What the authority reported

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause a delay in the speedometer displaying the correct vehicle speed in the instrument panel cluster. Note: This recall affects both Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models.

Safety Risk: A speedometer that doesn't display the correct vehicle speed could lead you to drive too fast without knowing. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument panel cluster software.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
