What the authority reported

Issue: On certain motorhomes, the wheel bolts for the spare tire may not have been included. As a result, you would not be able to install the spare tire correctly. If this happens, the spare tire could separate from the vehicle.

Safety Risk: A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could create a hazard for others.

Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Winnebago advises that you shouldn't use the spare tire until the recall repairs are completed. Winnebago will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact Winnebago directly or a dealership to provide you with the correct wheel bolts and wrench for installing the spare tire.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
