What the authority reported

This recall was replaced by Transport Canada recall no. 2025-177.

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the warnings reminding the driver to shift the transmission into Park (P) if the ignition is in the "OFF" position and the gear selector is not in the "P" position may not work. As a result, if the ignition is switched off and the gear selector is not in Park, the vehicle could move suddenly. Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that moves suddenly could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the body control module software.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
