What the authority reported
Issue: On certain motorcycles, the shift arm may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the fasteners that secure the shift arm could loosen and detach. If this happens, the shift arm could fall off and you would not be able to change gears. Safety Risk: Not being able to change gears could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a shift arm that detaches from the motorcycle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the shift arm.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
