What the authority reported
Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 22S41 (Transport Canada recall no. 2022-308) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.
Under certain conditions, the main contactors for the high-voltage battery could overheat. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels.
Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the secondary on-board diagnostic control module (SOBDCM) and battery energy control module (BECM) software.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
Record last checked against the registry on 2026-10-23.
